On January 1, the Maniapoto St deal- ership switched from being a Suzuki to a Yamaha franchise selling everything from children’s bikes to farm quads and road machines. The Otorohanga service and sales centre, which opened in 2004, is the sister-store of Bike Torque Taumarunui owned and oper- ated by Russell Josiah since 1986, which has served the King Country for more than 25 years. Russell says when it comes to selling, servicing and giving farm bike demos the team at Bike Torque Otorohanga have it covered. “When the offer came from Yamaha to take up the franchise in South Waikato we saw an opportunity to service a large base of customers who were previously with the Yamaha brand from the Hamilton and Te Awamutu stores,” he says.
