No action was required. The following day at 6.30pm firefighters assisted St John with a pa- tient lift at a Craig tce residence. Last Wednesday at 9.10pm they attended a crash in mahoenui where they assisted St John personnel. on sunday evening (8.50pm) they were called to a controlled rub- bish fire at a Seddon St property. this week began with an early wake-up call at 6.40am on monday as firefighters rushed to extinguish a truck and trailer unit fire on Waipuna Rd. PIoPIo FiReFiGHteRs had two accident callouts in two days last week. on February 4 at 1pm they were called to a crash near mokau. No action was required. the following day at 9pm they attended a crash in the awakino Gorge on sH3 but were again not required. otoRoHaNGa ON Sunday firefighters were called to investigate burning scrub be- tween mountain View Rd and trapski Dr. it was a controlled burn by otorohanga District Council staff. KaWHIa tHe brigade was called out on February 3 at 9.30pm to investigate smoke at te maika Point where a contractor was burning vegetation. Last Thursday, they assisted St John personnel with a male patient af- ter he burned the soles of his feet on hot sand at ocean Beach. He was transported to Waikato Hospital.
