AN Investigation is under way into reports of cars con-
stantly racing along Ngarongo St in Te Kuiti. Police
have the registration number of one car believed to be
involved which belongs to a Te Kuiti woman.
POLICE responded to reports of a fight on the corner of
South and Kent Sts in Te Kuiti. An onlooker was heard
saying ‘get a knife and slit his throat’. An 18-year-old
with a head wound was taken to Te Kuiti Hospital. No
complaint was made.
BURGALR(S) entered a store room at SuperValue super-
market on Rora St in Te Kuiti by lifting a piece of roofing
iron. Alcohol was taken. One box of beer was dropped
as the offender(s) left.
AN 18-year-old Taumarunui woman was issued with an
infringement notice for bald tyres after crashing her car
on SH3 south of Paekaka Rd. There were no reported
A 51-year-old Waitomo man was stopped by police
while driving on SH3 north of Otorohanga. He failed an
evidential breath test registering 514 micrograms of alco-
hol per litre of breath – more than twice the legal limit of
250mcg/l. He elected a blood sample to be taken.
POLICE were called to a home in Te Kuiti when a teen-
age boy threatened his parents with a knife. Youth Aid
Services have been advised.
A 66-year-old man rolled his ATV 50m down a steep
bank on a Wharepuhunga Rd farm. His grandaughter
was on the back but managed to jump off. She then
walked 1.5km to alert the neighbours. The man was air-
lifted to Waikato Hospital in a stable condition.
POLICE are investigating a claim that an alleged fraudu-
lent website is operating under the guise of foodbank.
The complainant told police the website asks for online
donations which are then distributed to foodbanks
throughout New Zealand. The website is not registered
as an official charity.
