A 26-year-old Otorohanga man was
stopped by police while driving on

breath test registering 630 micrograms
of alcohol per litre of breath – more than
twice the legal limit of 250mcg/l. He will
appear in Te Kuiti District Court on May
AN Otorohanga man reported to police
that while he was using a public toilet
on Wahanui Cr in Otorohanga an elderly
Caucasian man with grey hair “popped”
his head under the cubicle. After yelling
at him, the man ran away and was not
A 25-year-old Te Kuiti man, forbidden
from driving, was stopped by police on
Maniapoto St in Otorohanga. His car was
impounded and he was summonsed to
appear in court.
POLICE were called to the BP service
station in Te Kuiti at 7am after a four-
year-old boy dressed in his pyjamas
walked in to “get some food”. He had
his dog with him. The boy is known to
police from a previous similar incident.
They say he is “a very adventurous and
confident young man”. The pre-schooler
was returned to his home nearby where
his mother was still asleep and unaware
he had left.
A 21-year-old Otorohanga woman was
stopped by police for speeding on Te
Kanawa St in Otorohanga. She failed
an evidential breath test register-
ing 341mcg/l. She was issued with an
infringement notice and ordered off the
road until 9am the next day.
A MEDICAL condition is believed to have
caused a driver to lose control of his car
on SH3 and crash through a fence. He
was not injured.
A SUSPENDED driver from Otorohanga
was stopped by police for having only
one headlight working. He was driving
on Main North Rd at the time.
The 19-year-old was found to have
cannabis and cannabis smoking utensils
in his vehicle. He was given a warn-
ing about the drug offences, but sum-
monsed to appear in court on May 26
for driving while suspended.
POLICE assisted St John and two fire
crews at a single car crash on SH30 east
A SUSPENDED driver from Te Kuiti was
stopped by police while driving on Ma-
niapoto St in Otorohanga. The 20-year-
old man will appear in Te Kuiti District
Court on May 26.
THREE motocross bike riders were
stopped by police on Hospital Rd in Te
Kuiti. They were given infringement
notices and forbidden from riding their

Rd farm. It turned out a farm worker
had accidentally stabbed himself.
A MAN seen crossing the centre line on
SH3 several times was stopped by police
at 11pm when he drove into Otoro-

up for the night.
POLICE responded to a report of 10-15
people fighting on Haerehuka St in
Otorohanga. Officers found five people
in a nearby shed, one was bleeding from
his nose. He said he had been “punched
knife. No complaint was made.
A 17-year-old from Te Kuiti stopped by
police while driving on Maniapoto St had
only one tail light working. An officer
noticed signs of cannabis use but follow-
ing a search of the vehicle nothing was
found. A blood sample was taken from
the youth and his car keys confiscated
for 12 hours.
AN Otorohanga man clocked at 82km/h
in a 50km/h zone on Te Kanawa St was
issued with an infringement notice. His
excuse – “nobody was around”.
